Nakuru County will receive Sh909 million in loans and grants from the national government to upgrade the Nakuru Level 5 hospital.
According to the County Allocation Revenue Bill 2018, Nakuru is among nine counties which will share a total of Sh59 billion as conditional allocations from the national government for upgrade of Level 5 hospitals.
Other counties which will benefit from the share include Mombasa, Kisumu, Nyeri, Meru, Embu, Kisii, Machakos and Garissa.
If passed by the Senate and National Assembly, the bill will see each of the 47 counties receive Sh200 million for the Medical Leasing Equipment Scheme with a total of Sh9.4 billion going to the scheme.
Apart from the conditional grant, Nakuru will also receive Sh374 million as the normal allocation to the Level 5 health facility.
The county allocation revenue bill of 2018 will see counties receive a total of Sh372 billion from the national government which is 39.8% of the audited national revenue.
