Police in Nakuru Town are holding a suspect in connection with electronics theft at Ponda Mali Estate, Nakuru Town West Constituency.

Confirming the incident, Nakuru West chief inspector of Administration Police Barnabas Kimutai said that they acted on tip-off and arrested the suspect in a rented house at Ponda Mali.

“Police received information of a house that had several electronics and became suspicious. We made a raid and arrested one suspect and recovered electronic goods worth Sh300,000,” said Kimutai.

Kimutai said the goods included six TVs, one generator, assorted house items like ovens, clothes and bikes.

Kimutai thanked members of the public for providing the vital information.

“We are very pleased with residents in forward important information that led to arrest of the suspect.It's our hope that community-policing will continue,” he said.

He said that the goods might have been stolen from different estates and taken to Ponda Mali.

“These items might have been stolen after the suspects broke into houses from different houses in several estates,” said Kimutai.

He said that investigations have been launched to know how the items were stolen.

“Police have started investigation to know those behind the theft,” said Kimutai.

He said that the suspect will be arraigned in court once the investigations are through.
