Former Police Spokesman, Charles Owino, who currently serves as Njoro OCPD was on Thursday put to task by the National Police Service Commission vetting panel of explaining the source of his enormous wealth.
In his response Owino said he has amassed his wealth from his salary and business he runs.
"When you marry strong women you find yourself working extra harder to look for money to survive because you must fulfill your obligations to all of them," said Owino.
Owino said that struggles and demands from his polygamous family have led him to work harder and exploit various opportunities that have helped him accrue his wealth.
"The urge to keep the pocket with something so as to provide for my families has made me to invest in business," said Owino.
Owino is among the more than a 100 senior police officers being vetted from the South Rift in an exercise that began on Tuesday this week.
