There was drama as Kapkures ward MCA Paul Kimtai Langat together with his brother Richard Langat have were on Friday charged before a Nakuru Court with six counts of forgery.

The two were charged that on diverse dates between October 2010 and April 2012 at an unknown place with intent to defraud Josiah Njoroge without lawful authority made a title deed of a land situated at Mbaruk area in Nakuru.

They reportedly falsely uttered the document as a genuine one issued by the land's registry.

They also faced other charges of giving false information to police about the said land.

Particulars of the charge sheet were that on April 14, 2014 at the CID offices in Nakuru County willingly gave false information to a police officer who was investigating the said forgery of the documents.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Josephat Kalo, they pleaded not guilty and through lawyer Gordon Ogolla they urged to be released on lenient bond terms.

According to lawyer Ogolla, the first accused person is a public servant adding that he is not a flight risk if released on bond.

He said that there is another civil suit before the High Court of the said parcel of land saying that the case pitting his clients is an abuse of the court's process.

They were released on a sh 200,000 bond with a surety of the same amount or an alternative cash bail of sh 100,000 pending hearing of the matter on February 2018.
