A Nakuru MCA is on the spot over allegations of grabbing a land that was meant for construction of a cattle dip.

According to Kiamaina Community Cattle Dip chairman Charles Gichuhi, the Kiamaina MCA Samuel Kamau and area chief are on the spot concerning the grabbing of the land.

The one and a half acres land was allegedly grabbed and sold and business people built stalls.

The stalls are now possessed by business people at the Heroes Market Centre.

Gichuhi condemned the action of land grabbing saying public land should not be grabbed by anyone no matter the status in the community.

“We condemn this act where a leader conspires with some individuals to grab a public land that was meant for the cattle dip,” said Gichuhi.

Ndeffo Lands selling company admitted having been informed by the locals over plan by some individuals to sell the parcel of land.

The residents say the parcel of land has been there since 1984.

It has been revealed that up to now Ndeffo Land company has been trying to trace and now posses the title deed.

The Company and the locals have now appealed to the area MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri to step in and see to it that the land is returned to the community .

When contacted over phone,the Bahati  legislator said he will follow up the matter adding that no one is entitled to grab public or community land at any given time.

“No one is allowed to grab community land and we must act to ensure this land is returned to the community,” said Ngunjiri.
