A Nakuru-based political activist has faulted the intensifying wrangles in the Nakuru County Assembly pitying a section of Members of the County Assembly allied to the house Speaker Susan Kihika, a former Majority Leader George Mwaura and his successor Samuel Waithuki.
According to James Kaka, who unsuccessfully contested for the Menengai Ward seat in the last general elections, the ugly scenes being witnessed in the house by the members were a big shame and disrespect to law and public service provisions.
While talking to this writer in his office on Tuesday, the outspoken political activist cum business person urged members of the public to petition for the recalling of Members of the County Assembly involved in unprocedural activities that were a big shame to the County and the Assembly.
He noted that the wrangles were affecting public service delivery by the house is purely the work of greediness form the members who are out to blackmail the house leadership and business.
He further noted that county representatives involved in the wrangles were serving their masters, thus compromising their lawful mandates in the house.
“All these nonsense we are witnessing are a sign of poor leadership. They are fighting to control public resources instead of embracing good leadership,” he said.
“When will they ever settle down to serve wanachi who are suffering from poor water supply, high food prices, poor transport services, lack of proper health services and rampant insecurity not forgetting poor education and environmental protection standards,” he added.
Kaka urged the County Executive, led by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and the Judiciary to intervene and restore order in the county assembly for the sake of public service.
