Nakuru county commissioner Joshua Nkanatha has assured residents of Nakuru county that security agents in the county are on alert to counter any attack by terror groups during the Christmas festive season as the region expects to host a number of visitors.
The county commissioner while speaking during the 52nd celebration of Jamhuri day at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru on Saturday also called on the public to volunteer and report suspicious people to the police as a precautionary measure of curbing terrorism.
"As we all know, this county will be hosting many tourists during the festive season; we have put enough measures to ensure that we counter any planned attack in the region. I also call upon all citizens to be keen and lookout for suspicious visitors with ill intentions and report to the relevant authorities to help enhance security," Nkanatha stated.
Nkanatha also revealed the county's collaboration with the national government in beefing up security through a committee formed to oversee on the same.
