Residents of Racecourse Estate who are living next to Nakuru National Park have expressed concerns over monkeys stealing from their homes.
They said the animals raid their homes and run away with goodies.
“Yesterday a monkey ran away with a bundle of bananas worth Sh400 from my roadside grocery. They have given me headache as I am forced to guard them from stealing fruits from my grocery,” said Miriam Wambui, one of the grocery traders.
Rita Achieng, another resident living next to the Park’s fence said that once someone forgets to close the house, the monkeys will invade the house and eat all the food.
“I once forget the house and two monkeys quickly entered into the house and steal two breads,” said Achieng.
