The Judiciary arm has been praised by a section of Nakuru residents for exercising impartiality in its ruling.
Speaking yesterday at Nakuru Town ,the residents termed the ruling to halt sections of the contentious Security Law from being implemented as a landmark in Judicial execution of its duties.
“ I was happy by the fair deliberations of the court in Security Law suit “, said Collins Okello , a Nakuru -based business man.
Jack Odhiambo , a secondary school teacher hailed the the court as it was not cowed by the executive in its ruling.
“ A new dawn has descended on Judiciary ;it longer yields to the executive pressure”, said Odhiambo.
Last Friday, Justice George Odunga of High Court suspended eight sections of the controversial Security Laws after the opposition filed a petition challenging the implementation of the Law.
The residents however urged the opposition to support the government's effort in the war against terrorism.
“ Security can't be singly handed by the government alone ; its a social responsibility that requires even opposition to support “, said Peter Karanja., a tax driver.
The residents further said that to reinforce the fight against terrorism the government should address the issues of constrained police force and poor remuneration of police staffs.
