Residents of Kivumbini, Upendo and Kabachia are raising concern over the number of dead dogs that are found in the estates.

The residents have said the number has been increasing day by day therefore causing anxiety among the residents who have confirmed that they don't know what is killing the dogs.

Moses Macharia from Upendo estate said that in the past few weeks, he has seen a number of dead dogs in the area which he finds suspicious. He now urges public health officials to investigate the matter as it could be due to contamination from the environment that may eventually affect the residents from the area as well.

"We don't know what is killing these dogs; as you pass by, you will see a number of dead dogs beside the roads. This should be taken seriously as it might be a disease that may attack us as well," he said.

Grace Onyango from Kivumbini said that she has seen a number dead dogs around but that she also doesn't know what is killing them as well.

Onyango further urged the Municipal Council of Nakuru to collect them before they start decomposing.
