Nakuru County residents benefit from free cleft surgery clinic that will take place in Nakuru County General Hospital.
The clinic will take place between March 3 to 6, 2015 and it will be sponsored by Kenya Progressive Nurses Association (KPNA).
Speaking in his office the association chairman, Dr.Wilberforce Wekesa, said that the exercise will be carried out in all parts of the country between March and June.
“We are reaching out to Nakuru residents to publicize this exercise. Let pass this information to patients with cleft lip or cleft palate. The exercise will be free,” said Wekesa.
He noted that most people with cleft conditions are not aware they can be treated through operation.
He in particular said the clinic was targeting people from poor families in informal settlements and rural areas.
The medic said that the condition was also prevalent among violent people and communities like drug and alcohol abusers, criminals and reformed former convicts and drug abusers.
