A Nakuru resort has absolved itself of blame on the death of a graduate who drowned in the facility's swimming pool while celebrating his graduation.
The Pilgrims Getawa Resort said that the graduate was drunk hence the accident.
The owner, Lawrence Bomet, decried that many blamed his facility without even finding out what happened.
"Many hide alcohol in their bags and drink before starting to swim, that was the case with this incident," Bomet said.
The Nakuru county government said it has shut down the facility where Simon Mbugua, and his friend, Moses Wangai, drowned on Wednesday.
The two were celebrating Mbugua's academic achievement after graduating from the Rift Valley Institute of Business Studies.
