Residents of Nakuru county have been assured that roads in the area will be rehabilitated when heavy rains being experienced in the region subsidises.

According to the County Assembly Roads Committee vice-chair Agnes Salim, the state of some roads in the area is wanting and nothing can be done at the moment and residents have to be patient.

Salim who was speaking in Nakuru town, said that following the passing of the budget recently,funds for road repairs are ready and awaiting the right time for implementation.

He also revealed that the county was in negotiations with multinational companies working in the area to assist in road repairs.

"We are also negotiating with Timsales among other multinational companies conducting logging in Kiptunga forest  to assist in road repairs,"  said Salim.

She was addressing the press on Friday moments after residents using Elburgon-Mariashoni-Kiptunga road held protests over the route's poor state.

The Mariashoni MCA added that she regretted that some political aspirants were using the locals to hold demonstrations.
