[Photo: Suleiman Mbatiah]Governor Lee Kinyanjui on Sunday attended the commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Crash Victims at Karai, Naivasha.Nakuru is ranked second leading County in accident numbers and fatalities in the country.From January 2017 to date, reports indicate Nakuru has lost 185 people.The Salgaa blackspot is the worst in road crashes which has left many dead. The accidents have been blamed on careless driving. Kinyajui said the county government is working towards conforming with the UN Decade of Action Plan 2011-2020.
The plan calls for building capacities and improving on emergency services in a bid to prevent accidents and fatalities. The county will also strengthen the County Transport and Safety Committee, an initiative by Kinyajui during his days at the helm of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
