Nakuru county assembly Speaker Joel Kairu has found himself on the receiving side with social media users after he defended the assembly’s move to impeach the Finance CeC.
On Thursday evening, Kairu released a press statement to news rooms defending the move by the assembly to initiate the process of impeaching Finance CeC Joseph Kiuna.
But the move seemed to have angered majority of social media users who accused Kairu of playing politics.
“Kairu should know that the county is bigger than him and we are watching,” said one blogger.
Some accused Kairu of siding with the MCAs instead of taking a neutral position on the matter.
In the statement, Kairu had indicated that the assembly will not be intimidate by 'the social media smear campaign' and that it will proceed on with its duties.
He said that the assembly is a house of rules and that MCAs are simply doing their job.
