There are 700,000 voters registered in Nakuru County.
The current ongoing registration exercise targets to boost the number with over 300,000 more voters.
IEBC Regional Elections Coordinator Central, David Towett said that the ongoing registration was going on smoothly.
Speaking to the press in Kuresoi, Towett said he was optimistic that they would reach the target by the end of the one month period.
Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua who also verified his credentials at the registration exercise urged all the leaders in Nakuru to mobilise people to participate in this exercise.
"Voting not only gives people a chance to chose custodians of leadership but also equalises everyone in the society as there is no vote special than the other," said Governor Mbugua.
The month long exercise will also include verification of the already registered voters and transfer of voters who wish to change their polling stations.
