A teacher in Nakuru was on Wednesday night killed after an argument, over the just concluded election where President Uhuru Kenyatta was announced the winner, ensued.

The incident took place at the popular Nyama Choma stopover, Kikopey in Gilgil along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.

Witnesses told this writer the teacher and the attacker, who is a trader at the centre,  was having bites of nyama choma and drinks in a local bar when they started discussing politics.

"Their discussion became so heated and later developed into insults.  They were discussing whether Uhuru's win is acceptable (legitimate)," a waitress said.

The attacker then took a piece of wood and pounced at the teacher hitting him on the head.

The teacher collapsed.

Other traders rushed him to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The attacker is still on the run.
