Nakuru County will be the third county to benefit from intrepreneural programme dubed 'Step 4-Y'.
This was revealed on Tuesday by Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto during a courtesy call paid to him by officials from Kenyatta University and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, a Germany organisation that is in the county to conduct an Entrepreneurial training for the youth.
The training, which targets 100 youths from around the county will run for six weeks at the Nakuru Polytechnic.
According to the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung project coordinator Antonie Hutter, Nakuru is the third county to benefit from the sponsored training dubbed ‘Step- 4Y’.
Mildred Nawiri, who is a director at Kenyatta University said the trainers are from the University through their partnership with KAS.
The Deputy Governor welcomed the programme, which he said will go a long way in capacitating the youth in the county.
"This kind of training will provide a hands on skill which will make the youth less dependable on the government because it will raise their entrepreneurs’ capacity to absorb the available government loans such as Uwezo fund," said Ruto.
The concept and theme of the training is 'From Job Seekers to Job Creators'.
