A local Non-Governmental Organization in collaboration with the County Government of Nakuru will hold an International Housing Conference to attract investment in the local sector.
Nakuru Nongovernmental Organizations Federation coordinator Karegwa Muchiri, while announcing this on Tuesday during an induction meeting with members of the federation at a Nakuru hotes, said the conference that will be held mid next month will involve leading international stakeholders, including investors and NGO’s with interests in Kenya’s housing sector.
“The County Government has welcomed this idea because it is a great step forward not only in the local, but also national and regional housing industry,” said Muchiri.
“We expect that the ideas and information that will be shared will in the long run lead to a heightened development of the sector by encouraging international investors and traders in Nakuru,” he added.
The NGO’s Federation boss added that the idea behind the proposed conference was born out of a realization by the federation that local and national stakeholders were lagging behind in mobilization of resources and technology to elevate the housing industry, since the devolution system of government was started in 2013.
Muchiri on the other hand encouraged local housing and other investors and stakeholders to register and take part in the forthcoming conference in order for them to grasp opportunities and information in modern housing industry trends across the world.
