The final leg of the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) 2017 is set to be flagged off at Nakuru ASK show ground this weekend Friday 8 and Saturday 9 under the Rift Valley Motor Sports Club stable.

The event mainly sponsored by Menengai oil  will determine who will be crowned KNRC reigning champion among Ian Duncan, Carl Tundo, Baldev Chager, Karan Patel, Manvir Baryan and Tapio Laukanen who are the most prolific drivers so far.

Ian Duncan currently tops the table with 87 points at the moment, but the other drivers stand an equal chance of winning the title with Carl Tundo coming in second at 85 points, Baldev Chager has 79,Karan Patel 69, Manvir Baryan 68 and Tapio Laukanen closing with 63 points.

In compliance with National competition rules (NCRs) 2017 at least 75 per cent of the eight championship rally racing rounds must be completed before the winner is decided and declared, in this case by the oiler’s Top Fry brand.

The final round will feature a 377km long race which will be preceded by the 156 km race at the competitive stage, divided into eight sections. The initial four stages will be repeated with the longest being 30.59km and the shortest 1.76km.

The event will run mostly on private land and open roads with Menengai, Mogotio and Nakuru being the centres on action for the rally.
