In an effort to promote livestock farming and enhancing farmers' economic well being, the county government of Nakuru will host a public goat auction in Rongai sub-county on Wednesday.

The goat auction which is the first of its kind in the county is aimed at ensuring livestock farmers in Nakuru County’s marginalize areas get economic value for the livestock.

Under the banner “MIFUGO NI MALI” the county government of Nakuru aims at helping livestock farmers easily access markets and willing buyers for their animals.

According to the county government most farmers have been incurring losses during dry seasons due to the unavailability of markets for their livestock

The auction will be held at the Banita market in Soin ward of Rongai constituency.
