The sealed agreement is majorly aimed at improving the Agricultural sector particularly in corn improvement and sheep breeds where they will be interbreeding exercise between sheep from both counties. In addition, the sister counties will share knowledge on growing dryland rice.

In Ningxia as opposed to Kenya, rice is grown in dry and even arid areas. This knowledge, Mbugua said, would prove to be very beneficial for the dryer regions of Nakuru County.

Speaking at the event, Governor Mbugua highlighted the various opportunities for investment in Nakuru County saying the Chinese were welcomed in the region.

"Chinese Businesses have highly invested in the high- end hospitality industry, manufacturing, and industrial development such as roads, bridges, and railways," he said.

Mbugua also emphasised the need for mutual sharing of knowledge between both regions particularly on education saying he was looking forward to a future where both Nakuru County and Ningxia County would establish exchange programs for students and faculty from universities in both counties.

Also present was Nakuru County assembly leader of majority Waithuki Njane, Kamara MCA Joseph Ngware and Nakuru County Secretary Joseph Motari.
