Among the targeted sectors that will also see the French government coming on board include water and sanitation, environment, transport, health agriculture and energy.

Speaking in his office during a courtesy call by French delegation led by France ambassador to Kenya Remi Marechaux, Governor Mbugua noted that urban development needs much more intervention and through a master plan that the county government has embarked on, investors will play a big role in the development agenda.

Mbugua observed that France and Kenya have a long history of co-operation and they have supported Kenya in many ways.

“France have really supported us culturally and technically through friendly bilateral agreements that have greatly assisted our agricultural industry which uses varieties of France made machinery,” he said.

He added that technical support is what his government requires.

Mbugua however observed that the urban development agenda is experiencing challenges on environment especially on solid waste management which he termed as critical saying that his government in collaboration with partners will work toward making Nakuru a model county in terms of solid waste management.

The French ambassador said that his country will continue to partner with Kenya and will invest in some of the mentioned fields.

Ambassador Marechaux was in the county with a team of 40 investors from France who attended a forum later with the Nakuru Business Association after concluding an extensive tour of various parts of the county.
