Nakuru Town west MP Samuel Arama on Wednesday urged the public to defend Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty.
Speaking at Imani conference hall in Nakuru County, Arama highlighted various CDF achievements saying the projects have helped to improve peoples lives.
“The CDF lies in the hands of the public, the constitution clearly outlines the responsibilities of both the national and the county government and the CDF is under the national government,’’ said Arama.
He called upon members of the public to voice out their opinions on how they would like the CDF to be managed and carried out.
He at the same time urged the public to offer their full support to the Jubilee administration which he said is committed towards national development.
Speaking on the same occasion, Masinga constituency MP Benson Ituku told the public that CDF is for community development and therefore they own it.
He added that tempering with CDF will have negative impacts on lives of many in the country. The CDF board is conducting public hearings in all the counties so that they can come up with a new CDF act which will be aligned with the constitution in a period of twelve months as they were ordered by the court.
