The Nakuru public health department will burry 39 unclaimed bodies in the county mortuaries. County Public health officer Samuel Kingori issued a 21 day notice for relatives and friends to come and claim the body after which they would dispose them .

Speaking to the press in his office, Kingori ctied that they had recorded many unclaimed bodies from the main mortuaries in the county.  

“We have 15 bodies from the provincial General Hospital mortuary. We also have ten unclaimed bodies from Naivasha District hospital mortuary while seven are from Gilgil and Elburgon mortuary,” He cited.

The health specialist called on parents whose kin went missing to help them identify the victims. “It’s unfortunate that most of the bodies have never been identified. I am sure some people do not realize that their kin who went missing actually died. In most cases it’s the accident victims who are the main culprits,” he adde.

 Kingori cited that the burial will ease congestion in the mortuary which had already exceeded its capacity to hold dead bodies. He cited that there were plans to expand the mortuaries in the county to host more dead bodies. “We are looking into ways of improving the mortuary services for Nakuru residents ,” he added
