Former Subukia legislator Koigi Wamwere Sunday lambasted the county's electorate over what he called rejecting visionary leaders after being bribed.

"Nakuru voters rejected visionary leaders who did not buy their votes with handouts of money and who some accused of ethnic betrayal, after killing their own dearest desire of going to the promised land after languishing in the desert for more than 40 years," he posted on his official facebook page.

He added that as much as the voters were justified to grumble they had to accept the fact that it is them who played an integral part for their current predicament.

"Even as chickens come home to roost ,everybody and especially Nakuru voters should remember that in matters of bad governance, leaders are not the only ones to blame, but also voters who seem to suffer from a death wish of political leaders," read the post.

Wamwere has been critical of the Kinuthia Mbugua-led government, accusing it of propagating bad leadership in the county.
