A woman accused of killing her two children using rat poison was arraigned before a Nakuru Court on Wednesday.
It is alleged that the accused, Emma Chelagat, committed the crime on March 29 2014.
According to the prosecution, one of the children died as she was receiving treatment at a clinic in Olenguruone sub-county.
One of the witnesses, Jackline Kirui, who is a clinical officer told the court that the child had difficulty in breathing when she was taken to the clinic.
Another witness, who is a neighbor to the accused, told the court that they became suspicious after she refused to open her door and after they managed to break it down, they found three cups and a packet of rat poison.
The accused has already admitted to committing the crime before Judge Maureen Odero.
The case will continue on March 24 2017 before the same court.
