A Nakuru woman suspected to be a member of a gang terrorising residents of Kiamunyi Estate in Nakuru was on Tuesday arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with possession of an AK47 rifle which was used during a robbery.

According to Edaily, Sarah Nyambura together with others, who did not appear in court, are alleged to have broken into houses and used an AK47, rungus and pangas to rob the complainants.

The suspect appeared before Principal Magistrate Liz Gicheha, and charged with robbing Joseph Mwangi of his car valued at Ksh600,000, 32 inch Samsung television valued at Ksh23, 500, Sony home theater worth Ksh24, 500, digital camera worth Ksh30,000 and Sony explode speaker valued at Ksh4,300 all property valued at Ksh658, 300.

Nyambura faced another count of robbing Jane Njoki of her car valued at Ksh800, 000, Sh13, 000 and electronic items.

Nyambura faced another two counts of robbery with violence, whereby she was accused of robbing Joseph Kahiga and Josephine Wambui of their belongings including television, mobile phones and money, their properties amounting to Ksh60, 000.

Nyambura is alleged to have committed the crimes on May 14, 2017 at Kiamunyi estate within Nakuru County.

 Complainants reported the incident at Menengai Police Station.

The suspect was granted a surety bond of Ksh600, 000.

The case will be heard on October 21.
