Speaking in Nakuru town on Monday, Eco- friendly stoves Ltd sales manager Joshua Ndambuki advised women to promote green and renewable energy.

Ndambuki said Eco friendly stoves reduce emissions by 80% and increased cooking efficiency by 60%. He said the stoves will minimize the risk of respiratory infections and smoke inhalation.

"Respiratory diseases have increased among women due to too much smoke inhalation", said Ndambuki. He also expressed concerns over the rate of pollution in the county.

"We want a clean environment that will in turn ensure that we are all healthy", he said. He further said that green and renewable energy will save women and girls time as they will not have to go out to look for firewood.

He urged institutions to use biogas and solar energy as a way of conserving the environment. He also asked the Nakuru county assembly to come up with a law that will protect the environment.

Florence Kamau an official from the ministry of energy said that chronic diseases are on the rise due to lack of a clean environment. She therefore urged Nakuru residents to conserve the environment in order to curb respiratory problems in the county. Kamau advised women to embrace the Eco -Friendly stoves.
