Nakuru County Maendeleo ya Wanawake chairperson Mary Adagala has asked women in the county to be on the frontline in agitating for provision of quality services from the county leadership.
Speaking to this writer, Adagala said that women are the voice of the society and that they should use it to champion the rights and freedoms of other members of the society. She added that time has come for women to seek engagement in development matters.
“I want to challenge women to come out and speak on matters affecting them and the society,” said Adagala.
She stated that time when women were denied the right to speak is long gone, saying the constitution guarantees them their freedom and rights.
Adagala urged women to seek development funds and start businesses that will promote their livelihood, indicating that the government has given out enough money meant to empower women and youths across the country.
The chairperson promised to support women groups who come with business proposals to start and manage their enterprises, further calling on the county assembly to pass laws that will spearhead the interests of women at grass root levels.
