Addressing Nakuru residents on Thursday at Afraha Stadium Mbugua criticised National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi motion saying it is demeaning women position.

“Our positions are very vital in the running of the government. Abolishing them would be denying women a role to have the women’s voices upheld,” notes Mbugua.

Mbugua lamented that they had not received any money from the National Government to run any project yet so much was expected from them.

“It has been two years since we were elected in power yet we have never been given any single cent to run the projects we are supposed to implement as women leaders,” said Mbugua.

She pleaded with the first lady Margaret Kenyatta to influence President Uhuru Kenyatta not to sign the bill into law.

“It is only that our hands are tied and we do not have enough resources to run the activities in the county. Otherwise we play a vital role in the development of the county,” observed Mbugua.

Mbugua said women in Parliament play a big role which enhances government operations.
