This was observed today (Wednesday) by the social media savvy Lanet Chief Francis Kariuki when he commissioned a local Women Groups’ sponsored water supply project in the area.

According to Chief Kariuki, many women who fall victim of the conmen opt to remain silent since they feel ashamed to go public about the same.

Kariuiki urged women in search of genuine relationships to do it openly but not discreetly to mitigate chances of falling victims to conmen.

“I know of many cases where women, both young and mature, loose a lot of money and other valuable belongings to men who take advantage of their burning desires to be in love relationships. These ‘things’ should not be so secret unless you are practicing infidelity,’’ said Kariuki.

The Chief urged women to be active users of the internet and social media to enrich their economic ventures but not dwell on relationships matters.

He however advised women who wish to use the internet and social media to advance and diversify their relationships to practice maximum care to avoid falling victims to conpeople or people of questionable moral standards.

He added, “Some of our women are lured into pornography while our mature women with good savings waste them on people who tell them sweet words on phones and internet. It is not a taboo to diversify your love or relationship experiences as a human being, but take care not to become a victim.”
