The latest group to question the findings are Nakuru youth who believe that their governor deserves better than that.

A majority who spoke to this writer on Tuesday said as much as he cannot be the best performing governor, being ranked at position 27 was a mockery and disrespectful to all efforts Mbugua has put in place to make the county better.

"Where was the poll done? Whom did they speak to because I believe a Nakuru resident who has witnessed how our county has transformed under his patronage cannot underestimate his ability," said Jason Korir, from Kuresoi.

To Annet Nyambura, Governor Mbugua has shown everybody that counties can only thrive if governors led by example.

"From holding a youths week to having the Gavana Mtaani where all county programmes are brought closer to the people, in which county have such initiatives been facilitated?" she wondered.

Others said that the booing incident during a recent presidential official visit was politically instigated arguing that those were enemies of development out to misinterpret the governors development agenda.

The Nakuru governor was ranked 27th with 58.6 per cent approval.

His Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua emerging the  best at 79.4 per cent among county bosses.
