A section of youths from Nakuru Town East have protested on Tuesday over what they termed misunderstanding concerning the NYS empowerment program in the area.
Speaking to this writer, the angered youths who clashed with some officials from the Kenya Commercial Bank said they were being told to open accounts with KCB yet they were not allowed to ask any clarification questions, something they were against for fear that their money could be lost.
They also added that officials had registration forms which indicated that they should sign for NHIF and NSSF, something that did not go well with them and thus decided to go rowdy.
"We are just being told that we should sign the forms from KCB but we are not told on the procedure and when we tried to raise questions of clarity we are put off,"said one of the youths.
"Furthermore we wanted a clarification to ensure that our money is not lost like the other scandle of Anne Waiguru and thus why we were so concerned about the opening of the bank account with KCB,"added another Youth.
The youths are now appealing to concerned CS Cicily Kariuki to step in and calrify the issue of opening accont with Kenya Commercial Bank.
The officials had come to open for them Bank accounts after the Government opted for it to try and avoid the issue of money getting lost in unknown ways.
