Nakuru County commissioner Mohammed Birik has warned youths against engaging in violence or any other act that would disrupt peace.

Addressing the press at his office, Birik warned that stern action will be taken against any person found taking part in unlawful activities.

The commissioner who was speaking in connection to an incident where rowdy youths allegedly invaded a farm in Njoro Sub-county threatening to evict the owner under unclear circumstances, Birik stated such behaviour and acts will not be tolerated.

He said that the county government has put in place strict measures aimed at boosting security of every person in the county.

“I want to warn youths against engaging in violence or criminal activities. We will deal with the unlawful ones without mercy,” he said.

Birik instead urged young people to engage in activities that will foster development and promote peace. He said young people should take advantage of the financial support being provided by the government to engage in meaningful activities.

At the same time, Birik urged residents to co-exist peacefully saying that embracing peace will result in development.

He warned politicians who are fond of preaching hatred saying that they will not be accommodated in the county.
