Youth Development Fund officer Samuel Mwangi said that lack of information on the application of loans has locked out most youth from accessing the funds.

Speaking on Wednesday at PCEA Hall in Bahati Trading Centre during a youth seminar on entrepreneurship and leadership , Mwangi said that youth should be mobilised and sensitised on the need to fill application forms to enable them access loans.

“There is need to train the youth on the steps to be followed in loan applications and make them access these loans, they should be conversant with all the vital steps to hasten the outcome of the loans,” ,” said Mwangi.

He said the national government has dedicated huge resources to the youth and urged them to grab the opportunity to improve their livelihoods.

“The government has invested heavily in the youth by rolling out Youth Development and Uwezo Funds that seek to benefit the youth and empower them,” added Mwangi.

He also said that the county governments have followed suit, and have invested in youth to foster positive impact on their lives.

“Youth forms an important parcel in the development of economy and both units of governments have provided those with funds to enable them contribute to the growth of the nation,” said Mwangi.

Ken Maina, the coordinator of the seminar thanked the official for rendering the technical support to the youth.

Maina further said that the rolling of the two funds has greatly solved the unemployment issues which is rampant among the youth.
