The agricultural sector in Nakuru county will harness and grow following a partnership which is set to be forged between the county government and Agricultural Development Corporation, the deputy governor has said.
Speaking on Thursday after ADC’s CEO Dr. Andrew Tuimur paid him a courtesy call, Mr. Joseph Rutto welcomed the partnership saying that the county was ready for such a progressive move.
"We are pleased with such a noble idea and I assure you that we are together in this. The government of Nakuru also will support you in the retention of your land," said Mr Rutto.
Dr. Tuimur then assured the deputy governor that the corporation was ready to join forces with the county government in order to develop potato and livestock farming among others.
"We appreciate governor Kinuthia Mbugua's initiative to lobby for the reversion of the Rose farm back to ADC since it was through the governor’s efforts that President Uhuru Kenyatta issued a directive with regards to the restoration of ADC’s ownership of the land that is currently being used for seed multiplication," he said.
