Rescue operations resumed Monday morning at a four-storey building that partially collapsed along Mburu Gichua road in Nakuru town on Sunday evening.

The operation is being led by the National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU) and the military disaster unit.

According to deputy director of communications at the NDMU Pius Masai, they are not sure whether there are people trapped under the rabble.

“We have set up a command centre with the Kenya Red Cross Society setting up a tracing centre whereby those who might be missing their kins can report,” he said.

According to the officer, no report of missing persons has been made so.

“We have advised those who have businesses in the building to keep off until there is assurance of their safety,” he said.
