Plans are underway to upgrade and renovate Top Market, one of the oldest markets in Nakuru County, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said.

The governor said the market will be installed with a new gate, water supply system and sanitation facilities aimed at improving its current state.

Speaking to the traders at the market during his visit on Friday, Mbugua said his government will also ensure improved electricity connection at the market.

"We will also upgrade the fish and chicken slaughter houses," he said.

He added:"They will also be the replacement of the asbestos roof with safer and long lasting roofing."

The area MCA Steve Kuria, CeCs for Finance and Economic Planning, Agriculture, ICT and E-government, Transport and Public Works were among the county officials who accompanied the governor on the tour.
