Garissa Political analyst Fred Kiurire has called upon Cord coalition to name their flag bearer to avoid suffering last minute fallout.
He says the decision by Cord to delay the naming their flag bearer will do more harm than good, contrary to Cord's expectations.
Cord are planning to name their flag bearer next year in what they term as a strategy to ‘surprise’ Jubilee, something the analyst has denied.
“It will be very unfortunate for Cord to experience fallout in the last minute ahead of the elections. It will deny them time to sort out wrangles that may develop as a result of different options,” says Kiurire.
He adds that it will need sufficient time for the supporters to familiarize themselves with the preferred presidential candidate.
He says the coalition needs time to conduct their campaigns and the delay to name the presidential candidate will deny them that.
“It will deny the opposition time to conduct their campaigns which will be an advantage to Jubilee and beat them at their own game.” Says Kiurire.
