Nairobi ODM primaries have kicked off despite some voters complaining that their names are missing from the register.
"Niliigia hapa 5.30am (I got here at 5.30am) but after queuing here for long naambiwa jina langu haliko kwenye register (I was told my name is not in the register)," said a Makadara constituency resident as quoted by the Star.
"Wanatafuta jina langu na hawapati ... Nashindwa ni nini inaendelea. (They keep looking for my name but they can't find it and I'm wondering what's going on."
At Kilimani primary school, the same has been the case as voters complained that the party was using the 2013 register.
"Nimekuja like an hour ago. Nimekuja kuvote wakaniambiwa jina langu haliko. Ni kama wanatumia register ya 2013 (I came to vote but they said my name is not in the register ... they're using the 2013 register)," one said.
In Makadara, ODM branch chair George Aladwa is battling it out with former MP Reuben Ndolo for the party's ticket.
NASA leader Raila Odinga’s former aide Eliud Owalo is in Kibra fighting to dethrone incumbent Ken Okoth.
In Embakasi East, a fierce battle is expected where University of Nairobi's SONU students' leader Babu Owino will be battling out against incumbent John Ogutu.
Businesswoman Esther Passaris is also in a tough contest against Mountain View MCA Beautrice Kwamboka.
