Embattled former ODM secretary general Ababu Namwamba has once again made a false statement on national television this time about opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The MP for Budalang'i who has been at loggerheads with Odinga claimed that the last time Odinga set foot in his constituency was in the year 2007 when he was looking for support for his presidential bid.
The controversial MP said that he assisted Odinga during the 2013 polls by campaigning for him actions that garnered the opposition massive support even without Odinga setting his foot in the sub-county.
‘The last time they came to Budalangi was nine years ago when he came to look for votes in 2007. In the year 2013, I made sure he got the votes nevertheless,’ Namwamba was quoted by Daily Nation.
However, a 2014 Facebook post showing Odinga holding hands with the MP has reversed the MP's declaration.
"Sincere gratitude to my Party Leader, Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga for visiting us here in Budalang'i," the photo caption read.
Some weeks earlier, Namwamba fervently deprived of knowing city lawyer Edwin Sifuna, who had at one point conquered him from his rank in the opposition party.
"Who is Edwin Sifuna? I know no charm called Edwin Sifuna," said Namwamba.
Sifuna later avowed that they were friends totaling that he had even spent time at the Namwamba’s house.
