Political analyst Gideon Mamboleo says Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba dug his political grave by supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.
Namwamba, who joined Labour Party of Kenya recently from ODM supported President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid on Friday.
In an interview with the reporter, Mamboleo said Western region was still an ODM adding that it would be difficult for the outspoken lawmaker to retain his seat.
“Western Kenya is a traditional bedrock of ODM party and Raila Odinga. It will be difficult for Namwamba to sell his ideologies and those of Jubilee,” he said.
“He simply dug his political grave and would take many years to realize that. I don’t see him winning his seat given that majority of his constituents are allied to ODM,” he added.
Namwamba won Budalang’i seat in 2007 after beating former powerful Assistant Minister Raphael Wanjala before successfully retaining his seat in 2013.
