Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has withdrawn his support for Funyula MP Paul Otuoma who is gunning for the Busia gubernatorial seat during the August polls.
Otuoma is seeking to unseat the incumbent governor Sospeter Ojaamong on an independent ticket.
The lawmaker lost the ODM Party ticket to Ojaamong during the party primaries.
He, however, contested the nomination results citing massive electoral malpractices that led to his loss.
Otuoma has been enjoying the support of Namwamba who together ditched the Orange Party last year, before the former making a dramatic return.
Namwamba, however, moved on pledging to chart his own political path.
Speaking on Tuesday, Namwamba hinted at supporting a different gubernatorial candidate, casting doubts on Otuoma's bid.
Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the former ODM Party Secretary General will back the incumbent governor Ojaamong, given that he has been leading an onslaught against his parliamentary bid.
He further affirmed his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid.
"Uhuru is going to get overwhelming votes. Whether you like it or not," he said.
