Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has officially resigned as ODM Secretary General
He cited frustration, betrayal and lack of respect in the party as his main reason of quitting the party.
He had hinted that he would ditch the party.
He further accused Cord leader Raila Odinga of betraying him despite receiving assurances of support from him when he expressed his interest to lead the party as the Secretary General.
According to Namwamba, a section of people surrounding Mr Odinga marked him as 'unwanted' in ODM.
"After consulting the Banyala elders who advised me to resign and ditch the party, and from your decision as the electorates of Budalang'i, I am giving into your wish of resigning as the party secretary general," he said after meeting the delegates from his community in Budalang'i.
His resigned just days after Funyula MP Paul Otuoma resigned from his position as ODM Deputy Chairman.
