Nyamira County Assembly Majority Whip Peter Maroro has accused Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba of betraying ODM leader Raila Odinga by declaring support to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Friday, Namwamba endorsed Uhuru’s re-election bid during the president’s tour to the vote rich Western region.
Maroro labeled Namwamba a ‘thankless leader’ and predicted his ‘political death’ in the much anticipated 2017 elections.
“Namwamba has just betrayed someone who picked him from nowhere and made him somebody. I have now known that politics of betrayal are real,” Maroro told the reporter on phone.
“He has dug his political grave and I don’t see him making a comeback in Kenyan politics. OD is quite popular in Western Kenya making it a disadvantage for him,” he added.
The former vocal ODM Secretary General was a consistent critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee administration.
