Nominated Senator Janet Ong’era has dismissed claims by Labor Party of Kenya Ababu Namwamba that he is an ‘equal’ to his political mentor Raila Odinga as ‘imaginations’.
In an interview with The Nairobian, the Former Orange Democratic Movement Secretary-General claimed that he was ready to negotiate with Mr Odinga as an equal should they seek his support ahead of 2017 polls.
And in an interview with the reporter on Saturday, the former ODM CEO said termed Namwamba a ‘crawling baby’ insisting that he was milestones away from achieving Raila’s political standards.
“Honestly it won’t be fair for Namwamba to say he is Raila’s equal in terms of political maturity. He may have fallen out with the party but I don’t think he matches Raila’s achievements to an extent of claiming to have a requisite to negotiate ahead of 2017 polls,” she said.
"It’s just an imagination because the LPK was just rebranded recently and we are even yet to know whether it will even win a seat in parliament. He is a nobody and I don’t think his tours across the country will yield much,” she added.
Asked on what she could advise the outspoken Budalangi MP to do before 2017 polls, Ong’era urged him to reconcile with ODM or risk losing his seat.
