The Orange Democratic Movement has in the recent past been viewed as a party on the brinks of disintegration after a section of MPs from Western Kenya came out to condemn the party leadership of undermining party Secretary General Ababu Namwamba.

However, there has been disquiet on the issue from ODM top hierarchy with many terming the move by Western Kenya MPs as a storm in a teacup.

Nairobi-based lawyer and political analyst Ishmael Nyamibo also added his voice to the debate by terming Ababu Namwamba as the problem in the ODM party.

"Ababu Namwamba should just go, leave ODM, I wonder why they are actually babysitting him," said Nyamibo.

"He is the person who has been silent for a long time and then has come out to say I am being undermined. The way I look at it, clearly he could be the problem in ODM," added Nyamibo.

Nyamibo and another analyst Javas Bigambo who were talking in a programme on Citizen Tv (Opinion Court) on Thursday further said the noises made by Western Kenya MPs in ODM will not shake the party since they have nowhere else to go.

"I expect them not to move out because where are they moving out to, it would be to their greater disadvantage as opposed to the other way round," said Bigambo.

However, resident analyst Professor Edward Kisiangani said the move by Western Kenya MP is a ploy to prepare Moses Wetangula to quit Cord coalition.
