Former Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba has thrown his weight behind Deputy President William Ruto’s ambitions to occupy state house in 2022.
The Newly appointed Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) has said that he wants to see Deputy President William Ruto replace Uhuru Kenyatta when the time comes.
He was speaking on Monday during an interview with Citizen TV, where he added that he would love to see his ‘friend’ ascend to the highest office on the land.
“What my preference is if you ask me come 2022, I would tell you without a doubt is that Deputy President William Ruto has earned his space,” he said.
The former MP, who was Raila Odinga’s most trusted lieutenant further lauded President Kenyatta and Odinga for agreeing to work together.
He said the truce between the two will go a long way in promoting peace and unity in the country.
He, however, said that the pact should not in any way interfere with the Jubilee Party’s succession plans, where Ruto is expected to vie for the presidency on the same party.
He believes that the move will bring Kenyans together and help the country focus on more pressing issues.
