Namwamba who has been away from the political scene for a while on Tuesday expressed his frustrations in the party during an interview with a local TV station.

Apoko now wants Cord leaders Raila Odinga to wake up from ‘slumber land’ and replace the Budalang’i lawmaker with a committed person who could sacrifice for the party.

“The Secretary General position is very crucial to any party especially when we are handling a number of critical matters and laying down strategies. I am really concerned with Namwamba’s absence from active politics and this is the time for him to peacefully resign and give us space,” he said.

“Our party leader should also wake up from slumber land and speak about this matter. We cannot have a Secretary General who is a liability to the party. He will disorient our systems at this critical moment so time has come for him to resign or we force him out,” he added during a telephone interview.

He slammed Mr Namwamba’s remarks as ‘childish’ and challenged his commitment in the party given the superior position he is holding.

“I heard him saying that he is being frustrated in ODM yet he is the senator most official. I expect him to show the way instead of being a cry baby. We don’t need people who speak childishly about the party when we need strong officials. He must quit soonest,” he said.
